My Story
I’m Tom Buscher, a visual journalist, brand storyteller, and the founder of Cedar & Shore Studio LLC in Sequim, Washington. I photograph people, businesses, events, and outdoor life across the Olympic Peninsula. I also create video, drone imagery, websites, and social media content.
Photography gives me a reason to explore and pay closer attention. I ride, hike, and spend time along the Peninsula’s coast with a camera, drawn to the details and moments I might otherwise pass by. Reporting adds conversations to that process. I get to ask questions, learn how people do their work, and share stories that help others understand this place.
My reporting and photography have appeared in the Sequim Gazette and Peninsula Daily News, with award-winning photography also published in the Tidepools and CM Digital Artist Magazine. My work has taken me from sea kayaking and backcountry packing to community events and the people who keep local traditions alive.
I earned an AAS-T in Multimedia Communications: Web & Interactive Design from Peninsula College, graduating with a 3.98 GPA and the Presidential Medal of acedemic excelence. I made the President’s List every quarter and earned certificates in digital image editing, digital video, digital storytelling, and 3D design, and web, UI, and UX design.
I’m an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, a PPA member, and fully insured. Through Cedar & Shore Studio, I bring photography, reporting, and design together to help businesses and organizations show people what they do and why it matters.
How I Work
I believe good creative work begins with listening.
Before I ever lift a camera or sketch a brand system, I want to understand who you are, what you value, and what you’re trying to build. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in narrative because the best work doesn’t just look good, it means something.
Whether I’m photographing a moment, designing a visual identity, or shaping a website, my goal is always the same: to create something honest, intentional, and deeply aligned with your story.

Mastered Quality
“Tom is a good photographer who I see often looking for new perspectives and always willing to try out a cool shot. He is meticulous in both culling and editing and has mastered quality over quantity- this is shown every time he delivers images. I want to mention that Tom brings a peaceful energy to every shoot. I’ve modeled for him many times and always feel confident and comfortable in front of his lens. He can communicate if he has a vision but also goes with the flow to take advantage of situational opportunities. I trust his ability and skill as well as him as a human.”
